Military and other governmental authorities and some private organizations operate launch facilities throughout the world. Both private and governmental organizations also do weapons and munitions development, testing and production. They locate many of their facilities in remote areas and harsh environments for safety and strategic reasons and, therefore, require air conditioning and other HVAC equipment that will operate under extreme and often hazardous (explosive) conditions.

If you must cool, heat or ventilate such a facility, DMC can help!

DMC designs and builds air conditioners specifically to provide air conditioning in artic cold, tropical heat, marine humidity and corrosion, and desert sand. It handles hazardous conditions with equipment specially made to be safe in the presence of explosive or flammable dusts and gases as well as each of these tough conditions individually — or all together!

I. Adapt to Extreme Environments

Standard 316L stainless-steel cabinets, corrosion protection on all evaporators and condensers, and incoloy tubular heating elements resist a huge variety of harsh agents. Its condensers and evaporators do not clog with dust or sand and they cool in ambient temperatures from 131°F (55°C) down to either 32°F (0°C) or -40°C/F as you specify — and without any sensitive or hard-to-find electronic controls.

II. Easy Maintenance and Repairs Without Special Spare Parts

DMC makes a special effort to design its products with as few proprietary parts as possible so that the user can obtain replacements — or adequate substitutes — locally. Therefore, we eliminate electronic parts not just to minimize vulnerability to electrical problems, but also to assure that you can easily and quickly repair the units.

To help keep equipment running under isolated conditions, particularly in emergencies, we also design the units to accommodate temporary repairs in the field without spare parts.

Using only mechanical controls also helps eliminate the need for specially-trained technicians to service our equipment.

III. Durabilily

Because DMC makes its air conditioners for extreme applications, we use over-sized and heavy-duty components that last longer than those of ordinary commercial and residential air conditioners.

Since DMC designs its units specifically for durability and operations under extreme conditions, they retain their energy efficiency under such conditions. DMC air conditioners are the “greenest” under harsh conditions.

Reminder about “Explosion-Proofing”

Even when DMC adapts its units for flammable and explosive environments, they retain all their other harsh-duty advantages and durability. Therefore, they afford a far better return on investment than do residential or commercial units modified for hazardous locations. In addition, DMC makes a special priority the development and production of robust Division/Zone 1 air conditioners, with and without heat.
